Waymo must disclose details of Lyft car deal to Uber: ruling

July 7, 2017 By Dan Levine SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – A U.S. judge on Friday ruled that Alphabet Inc’s self-driving car unit Waymo must disclose documents to attorneys representing Uber Technologies Inc [UBER.UL] about Waymo’s partnership with Lyft Inc, saying the information could be important in Waymo’s lawsuit accusing Uber of stealing some of its trade secrets. Uber threatens to fire self-driving car engineer in trade secrets case

May 19, 2017 (Reuters) – Uber has threatened to fire an engineer accused by Alphabet’s self-driving Waymo unit of stealing confidential documents in a high profile trade secrets case between the two companies, according to a court filing. Waymo sued ride services company Uber Technologies alleging that former Waymo executive Anthony Levandowski downloaded over 14,000 confidential documents before leaving Waymo to subsequently join Uber. Uber tells judge it will seek to have Waymo case go to arbitration

March 16, 2017 SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – A lawyer for Uber [UBER.UL] told a federal judge on Thursday he intended to file a petition to compel arbitration in the Waymo trade secrets case within two weeks. “We intend to file permission to file arbitration within two weeks” lawyer Arturo Gonzalez told U.S. District Judge William Alsup.
